TRUDI WILLIAMS
Your Community, Your Future...YOUR CANDIDATE!!!
TRUDI AND HER FAMILY: L-R Son-in-Law, Jordan; Daughter, Shannen; Trudi; Husband, Don; Daughter, Kristen; Son, Ryan
Trudi Williams has been a resident of Ft. Myers since 1968. Having had the opportunity to grow up here, Trudi knew this was the place she wanted to start a family, a business, and give back to the community that has given her so much.
Trudi married her husband Don Williams in 1980 and soon started a family. She has raised three children, Ryan, Kristen and Shannen, in the wonderful Florida sunshine. In addition to building a family life here, Trudi also has operated a successful business. With a degree in civil and environmental engineering, Trudi started TKW Consulting Engineers in 1981 and soon became one of the largest and most successful woman run engineering firms in the state of Florida.
In 2004, Trudi was elected to the Florida House of Representatives serving the residents of Southwest Florida in District 75, and has been overwhelmingly re-elected for three consecutive terms. Having been appointed to Chair the Agriculture and Natural Resources Appropriation Subcommittee and the Select Committee on Water Policy, Trudi is a strong advocate for responsible environmental regulation. She has also served on the State Appropriation Committee and the State Affairs Committee.
In addition to her engineering experience, Trudi also has a strong medical science background. Prior to pursuing her engineering goals, Trudi worked as a certified physician’s assistant, as well as a medical assistant course instructor. Trudi also helped set up the catheterization lab at Southwest Florida Regional Hospital. Her knowledge of both the healthcare and engineering professions has helped her better understand critical issues facing Southwest Florida and the state at large.
Trudi has won many accolades including the National Professional Engineers in Private Practice Award; the Cattleman Association Legislator of the Year Award; the American Water Works Association, Florida Section, Legislator of the Year Award; the Florida Institute of Consulting Engineers Governor A.W. Gilchrist Award; the Horizon Council Industry Appreciation Award; and the Uncommon Friends Foundation Business Ethics Award, just to name a few.
Prior to serving in the House of Representatives, Trudi served as the Chair of the South Florida Water Management District Governing Board, as well as served on the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta Advisory Council, and as Director of the Florida Institute of Consulting Engineers Board.
Your vote for Trudi ensures that you will have a strong voice in the Florida State Senate that only forty two years of living in Southwest Florida can bring. Trudi lives here, owns a business here, and will work tirelessly to overcome the challenges that you and your family are facing in these tough economic times. Vote for your community, vote for your future, VOTE FOR TRUDI!
